Shannon ABC is a commercially focussed, state of the art research centre. It has a strong history of collaboration with industry in the biotech, food and life science sectors, and was established through funding co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and Enterprise Ireland under the Applied Research Enhancement (ARE) Programme.

Open Day: People, Technologies and Industry

Come and hear from companies we have worked with, about technologies we can use to help your company, and how to get funding to do this.

We deliver solutions for Food, Biotech and Life Science companies. We are a collaboration between Limerick Institute of Technology and the Institute of Technology Tralee, and are core funded by Enterprise Ireland as a Technology Gateway.

Technology Gateway Programme Launch 2018

The Enterprise Ireland Technology Gateway Network will be formally launched by John Halligan, TD, Minister of State for Training, Skills, Innovation, Research and Development on Wednesday 2nd May 2018 in the Carlton Dublin Airport Hotel from 9 am to 12 pm.

The network consists of 15 industry-focused Gateways based in 11 Institutes of Technology spread across the country.

The programme represents a €26.75 million investment by Enterprise Ireland over a five year period, 2018 to 2022.

Each Gateway delivers technology solutions for industry through innovative collaborative projects and provides:

  • An open access point for industry providing technology expertise which is industry relevant.
  • Technology solutions for the close-to-market needs of Irish industry.
  • Regionally based Gateways acting as a portal to the nationwide expertise in the Technology Gateway Network and the wider Irish Research Infrastructure.
  • Ongoing development of the Gateway’s technology offer to industry with the assistance of an industry-led steering committee.

The launch will showcase the technology solutions offered by each Gateway, provide specialised presentations and case studies from a range of companies who have collaborated with the Enterprise Ireland Technology Gateway Network and offer an opportunity to network and meet with the Technology Gateway teams to discuss the various funding mechanisms available to your company for Research, Development & Innovation.

A networking lunch will be provided.

Who should attend?

Small to medium-sized enterprises with a need for assistance in developing a new product, service or process; or improving an existing product, service or process. All industries are welcome.

How do I register?

Schedule a meeting with MET Technology Gateway on the 23rd of Jan 2018 to discuss how a voucher can support your company. Following registration, you will be emailed a short survey to complete in advance. Once complete we will schedule a 30-minute one-on-one meeting to discuss how we can work together through an Innovation Voucher.

Beyond the Internet of Things
